Forget the gimmicks.
This is the purest way to experience a real race car, on a real race track,
with real racing drivers on hand to coach you.
You don’t need your own car, or a racing licence. Just bring yourself and a passion for driving. We’ll provide the cars, the track, the safety, and the guidance. So you can leave the circuit with memories that stick.

How It Works.
Choose Your Experience
Pick one or more cars below. You’ll be asked to choose a date and venue before checking out.
Arrival & Briefing
You’ll arrive at the circuit on your booked date to check in, and meet the team.
Meet Your Crew
You’ll share a genuine race-prepared car with up to four other drivers for a full day of driving - from 9AM to 5PM. They can be your friends, or other enthusiasts booked for the same day.
Driving Sessions
Across multiple sessions - with no limit on how many you can do during the day - you’ll head out onto the track with professional guidance from a real racing driver in the car with you. Each session builds on the last, so you’ll grow faster and more confident as the day goes on.
Between Runs
When you’re not driving, you’ll be in your private pit-lane garage with your fellow drivers, enjoying refreshments provided throughout the day by our team of event hosts.
Wrap Up
At the end of the day, we’ll hand out our Driver of the Day award to the one who impressed the most. You’ll head home with memories of something which most people will never experience during their lifetime.
Our Story
Merrills Motorsport was founded by James Merrills - a lifelong racing driver with a vision to raise the standard in the track day industry.
James spent years working with other driving experience companies, seeing first-hand how much was missing from the customer experience. The cars were exciting, but the days often felt rushed, superficial, or designed more for volume than for value. He believed people deserved more than a handful of laps - they deserved genuine time behind the wheel, space to learn, and moments that truly capture what driving a race car is all about.
Determined to bring this vision to life, James went to university to study investment finance - not because he wanted a career in the City, but because he wanted to understand how to raise the funding needed to build a business around this idea. With that knowledge, launched Merrills Motorsport.
Today, the team at Merrills Motorsport has grown, and the brand has flourished into a thriving premium track day provider, offering experiences that focus on what really matters: great cars, real circuits, professional coaching, and time on track that leaves you in awe of what you just achieved on a race track.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Not at all. Our coaches will guide you at every step. We welcome both first-timers and seasoned drivers.
You just need a drivers license, which you’ll need to present on the day.
-
We never book more than five drivers per car for the day. That means more time at the wheel, more stints on track, and a fuller experience for you.
Our focus is on giving you the most, not the least.
If you’re booking as a private group and want to bring more friends along, we can arrange more than five drivers per car on request.
-
You’ll have access to food and refreshments throughout the day, as well as a private paddock area to relax between stints. It’s premium, stripped back from our trademark ultra-luxury offering available at a higher price, but still contains everything you need for an unforgettable day.
-
In most cases, the event goes ahead as normal. Your pit crew will swap the car to wet tyres, adjust the suspension setup for the conditions, and get you back out on track. Driving in the wet is part of the authentic motorsport experience, and our instructors will coach you accordingly.
However, in severe weather we reserve the right to pause driving, reschedule, or cancel the event: Some of the cars we operate - such as the Radical - cannot be safely operated in heavy rain.
As long as it’s safe, we run in the wet.
-

You are liable for all costs associated with damage without limit, unless you purchase a damage waiver.
Damage waivers are optional, and cap your liability for damages to the excess on the cars insurance policy (this varies by car, typically from £1,000 to £3,500).
In some cases we may require you to provide a deposit equal to the excess, which will be refunded when the event concludes and the car is undamaged.
